Discounts for university students in Machu Picchu

University students have a benefit when purchasing their entrance to Machu Picchu. The ticket for them has a special discount by presenting their valid university card. This benefit applies to all types of tickets to the Inca city throughout the year, including tickets to Huayna Picchu, Huchuy Picchu, the Inca Bridge or Machu Picchu Mountain. Machu Picchu for university students

Machu Picchu offers three types of discounts: for people under 18 years old (children under 3 years old enter for free), citizens of the Andean Community of Nations (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia) and university students.

University students have discount on the five types of tickets to Machu Picchu: a) Machupicchu Solo, b) Machupicchu with Huayna Picchu, c) Machupicchu with Mountain, d) Machupicchu with Small Picchu ye) Machupicchu with Inca Bridge.

Tickets can be purchased online. They can be purchased on the website of the Ministry of Culture of Peru. Another option is to do so through the website of an authorized tourism agency.

The main requirement is to have a valid university ID, which must be sent online. On the day of the visit to Machu Picchu, the tourist must show his or her physical university ID. Without it, the visitor will not be able to enter and must purchase a general adult ticket.

If the visitor is not only a university student but also a citizen of Peru, Colombia, Ecuador or Bolivia, the discount is even greater. These promotions are valid throughout the year, even on Sundays and non-working holidays.

Requirements to access the university discount in Machu Picchu

The main requirement to access this discount is a valid university card, which must be made of PVC material, clearly have the full name of the student, the university, have a legible photo of the university student and show the expiration date of the card (valid during the day of the visit to Machu Picchu).

University students must be pursuing current undergraduate studies and be under 25 years of age at the time of their visit to Machu Picchu.

Certificates of study, master’s degree cards, postgraduate cards, library cards or registration cards are not considered valid documents. No type of ISIC card is accepted.

Other discounts in Machu Picchu

Entrance to Machu Picchu also offers discounts for minors under 18 years of age and citizens of the Andean Community of Nations:

• Visitors under 18 years of age – Visitors under 18 years of age have access to a special discount at Machu Picchu when making a purchase with their passport or valid national identity document. Tourists must show the document with which they made the purchase on the day of their visit to the Inca city.
• Visitors from the Andean Community of Nations – Visitors from Peru, Colombia, Ecuador or Bolivia have access to a special discount at Machu Picchu when making their purchase with their passport or valid identity document. Tourists must show the document with which they made the purchase on the day of their visit to the Inca city.
