Itinerary

Day 1 (City Tour Cusco)

  • The City Tour Cusco begins with the pick-up of the visitor from the door of their hotel (pick-up around 8:30 am approximately). The other option is to take the tour in the afternoon (pick up at 12:30 pm).
  • The first destination to visit will be the Cathedral of Cusco. The tourist will enter accompanied by his tour guide. There you will admire colonial art from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The Cathedral stands out for its magnificent baroque architecture, as well as its canvases, sculptures and pieces of gold, silver and precious stones.
  • The next tourist destination will be the Sacsayhuamán fortress, famous for its immense stone walls (with rocks weighing up to 120 tons). The tourist will tour its main constructions for 40 minutes, accompanied by his guide.
  • Then we will visit the archaeological site of Qenqo, a place famous for its underground passages. The tourist will see its carvings and the sacrificial stone. The journey will be approximately 30 minutes.
  • The next tourist destination will be the archaeological site of Pucapucara, famous for its stone and adobe squares where the Inca troops formed.
  • The next tourist destination will be the Inca site of Tambomachay, a place famous for its water sources (water as a purifying element). There the visitor will appreciate the important stone constructions that still impress the visitor today.
  • On returning to the city of Cusco, the visitor will visit the Inca temple of Coricancha. This temple is the most important in all of Cusco. Visitors will appreciate the best-crafted walls in the entire empire.
  • The tour ends with the final transfer of the visitor to the door of their hotel at around 2 in the afternoon (at 5.40 pm on the late shift tour).

Day 2 (Inti Raymi Tour)

  • On June 24, the Inti Raymi tour, the festival of the sun, takes place. Pick-up takes place at 7:45 in the morning, with the meeting at the Valeriana café (in front of Coricancha). Right in front of the cafe is the Coricancha esplanade where the first big show begins (starts at 9 in the morning).
  • Your tour guide will look for the best location for the tourist on the crowded Coricancha esplanade. Optionally, for an additional cost, tourists can reserve a seat in an armchair in front of Coricancha.
  • After the show at the Coricancha the group will walk 10 minutes to the Main Square of Cusco where the second staging of Inti Raymi will take place. The show starts at 11 am. The guide will look for the best space to appreciate the show in the crowded Main Square.
  • The Inti Raymi show in the Main Square and the Coricancha lasts approximately 45 minutes. After both shows, the tourist will be taken to the transport that will take him to Sacsayhuamán (approximately 40 minute trip).
  • Before the show in Sacsayhuamán the visitor will have a nutritious box lunch made with Andean ingredients.
  • In Sacsayhuamán the main Inti Raymi show takes place, which starts at 2 pm. The tour includes one of the entrance tickets: red seat, orange seat or green seat available.
  • The Inti Raymi show in Sacsayhuamán lasts 2 hours 30 minutes. The show will be in the company of a tour guide. The show ends around 4.30 pm.
  • After the show in Sacsayhuamán, the visitor will be taken by tourist transport to a central square in the city where the tour concludes at 5.30 pm on average.

Day 3 (Tour to Machu Picchu)

  • The next tour will be the 1-day visit to Machu Picchu. The service begins with the pick-up of the visitor at the door of their hotel in the center of Cusco (between 4:45 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.).
  • After the pick-up, aboard a tourist transport, we travel to the Wánchaq station in the city of Cusco itself.
  • In Wánchaq we board the Bimodal bus that in almost 2 hours of travel will take us to the Ollantaytambo train station. The trip goes through the towns of the Sacred Valley such as Chinchero and Urubamba.
  • At the station the visitor can use the toilet services or have a brief breakfast (station cafeteria) before boarding the Peru Rail Expedition service.
  • The train ride is super comfortable. It lasts 1 hour 45 minutes. The train includes tables, panoramic windows and attention from staff on board.
  • The final destination is the town of Aguas Calientes, also called Machupicchu Pueblo. There the tourist will be taken a few steps to the local bus station. There you will board the bus for a short 30-minute trip to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu.
  • Once at the entrance gate of Machu Picchu, the visitor will meet his guide. The group will enter Machu Picchu with their guide to complete circuit 2. This circuit lasts 2 hours 30 minutes on average. Includes a visit to the main temples and buildings, such as: the Temple of the Sun, the Main Temple, the Temple of the 3 Windows, the Sacred Rock, the Temple of the Condor and more. The visit offers time to take the best photographs, including shots from the Guardian House area (the classic postcard photo of Machu Picchu).
  • Before returning by bus to Aguas Calientes, visitors who reserved the buffet lunch (optional for an extra cost) should go to the Tinkuy restaurant, at the Sanctuary Lodge hotel (5 stars), the only one located right in front of the entrance gate to Machu Picchu. Otherwise, visitors must board the bus for the return leg to Aguas Calientes (30 minutes of travel).
  • In Aguas Calientes the tourist will have free time to have lunch (not included in the tour) and stroll through the beautiful streets of Machu Picchu Pueblo.
  • At the time agreed upon by the guide, the visitor must board the Expedition train for the return trip (1 hour 40 minutes) to the town of Ollantaytambo. In this town you transfer to a bus that takes the visitor to the city of Cusco (Wánchaq station) in almost 2 hours.
  • The tour ends with the final transfer to the door of the tourist’s hotel at approximately 9 pm.

Day 4 (Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour)

  • The tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins with the pick-up of the visitor from the door of their hotel at 7:30 in the morning on average.
  • Aboard a tourist transport, together with the professional guide and the rest of the group, you will travel through the beautiful landscapes of the Sacred Valley. The first stop will be at the Taray viewpoint, with some of the best views during the tour.
  • After continuing with the trip, we arrive at the archaeological site of Pisac. There the visitor will be able to see its immense platforms, terraces, stone enclosures, temples and even an Inca cemetery looted in colonial times. The guide will explain the history and importance of this immense Inca citadel.
  • After visiting Pisac, the trip continues towards the town of Urubamba where you will enjoy a buffet lunch at one of the best restaurants in Cusco: Tunupa. Lunch includes a wide variety of dishes such as soups, pastas, salads, breads, snacks, main dishes, desserts, hot drinks and the best of Peruvian cuisine.
  • After the delicious lunch, we travel to the town and archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. Tourists will appreciate its famous buildings such as the Temple of the Sun, the 10 Hornacinas Enclosure or the Ñusta Baths. You can also explore the town and take beautiful photographs.
  • On the return trip, the tourist will visit the town of Chinchero, a place famous for its textile centers where the visitor will learn about the ancestral techniques of spinning and dyeing alpaca garments. Then you will visit the archaeological site of Chinchero, famous for its platforms, Inca roads, stone walls and its colonial church.
  • The tour ends with the return trip to the city of Cusco. The tourist will be taken to the door of their hotel or to a central square in the city at approximately 5.40 pm.

Day 5 (End of tour)

  • On the last day of your visit, the visitor will be picked up from the door of your hotel for the final transfer to the Cusco airport.
  • The tour concludes with the farewell. The time is agreed in advance by the visitor.
