Get to know the best of Cusco during the Festival of the Sun, the Inti Raymi. This Inca festival takes place on June 24 of each year with a great staging in the Sacsayhuamán fortress. The tour lasts 6 days and also includes the Cusco City Tour (half day), the Sacred Valley of the Incas tour (with buffet included), Maras and Moray (half day), as well as the 1-day visit to the Inca citadel of Macchu Picchu. Itinerary

Day 1 (City Tour Cusco)

  • The Cusco City Tour begins with the pick-up of the visitor from the door of their hotel at 8.30 am.
  • Then we visit the first tourist attraction: the Cathedral of Cusco. There you will learn about the history and magnificent works of art from the colonial era (16th, 17th and 18th centuries).
  • Then you travel by tourist minivan to the Sacsayhuamán fortress. Always in the company of a tour guide, the visitor will see the immense stone walls made by the Incas.
  • The next tourist destinations to visit will be the Qenqo temple, the Inca site of Pucapucara and the archaeological site of Tambomachay.
  • On board the tourist minivan the return trip is made. Before visiting the sacred temple of Coricancha, the most important religious site of the Inca empire.
  • The tour ends with the visitor’s transfer to the center of Cusco at 1.30 pm, very close to most tourist hotels and restaurants in the city.

Day 2 (Inti Raymi Tour)

  • On June 24 at 7:30 in the morning the Inti Raymi tour begins with pick-up from the visitor’s hotel.
  • Then, the group meeting takes place against Coricancha. There, at 9 in the morning, the first show begins with the presence of hundreds of actors and actresses representing the Inca, the Coya, the high priest, the representatives of the four of them and more.
  • The tourist will appreciate the spectacle with the guide from the best point they can find in the crowded Coricancha esplanade.
  • Then we walk to the Main Square where the second big show begins at 11 am. The visitor will also be accompanied by the guide in the best space they can find since this show is public for everyone.
  • Then, aboard a tourist transport, we travel to the Sacsayhuamán fortress where the third Inti Raymi show, the most important of all, begins at 2 pm.
  • Before the show, the visitor will enjoy a box lunch with the best Andean ingredients that includes an appetizer, a main dish, drinks, snacks, chocolates, fruits and more.
  • The show lasts 2 hours 30 minutes on average. At the end the visitor will be able to take photos with the actors and actresses in Inca clothing.
  • The tour ends with the visitor’s transfer by tourist minivan to the center of Cusco at approximately 5.30 pm.

Day 3 (Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour)

  • The tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins with the pick-up of the tourist from the door of their hotel in the city of Cusco at 7.30 am.
  • Aboard a tourist minivan you travel to the Taray viewpoint where you can get beautiful photographs of the valley.
  • Then the trip continues to the archaeological site of Pisac where the tourist will discover its immense platforms, enclosures, neighborhoods, temples and even an Inca cemetery.
  • After the visit to Pisac, the trip continues towards the town of Urubamba. There the tourist will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the prestigious Tunupa restaurant.
  • After lunch the trip continues towards the Inca town of Ollantaytambo. There the visitor will see imposing temples, such as the Temple of the Sun, the 10 Hornacinas Enclosure, the Ñusta Baths and more.
  • During the return trip, the tourist will stop in the town of Chinchero. There you will visit the famous archaeological site that was the palace of Emperor Túpac Yupanqui. The visitor will also visit a textile center to learn the ancestral techniques of spinning and dyeing garments made of alpaca.
  • The tour ends with the tourist returning to the door of their hotel in Cusco at approximately 6 pm.

Day 4 (Tour to Machu Picchu)

  • The tour to Machu Picchu begins with the pick-up of the tourist from the door of their hotel at 5 in the morning.
  • Aboard a minivan on a short trip you arrive at the Wánchaq station where you transfer to a tourist bus (Bimodal of Peru Rail). Then it’s time to take a trip of almost 2 hours through the Sacred Valley to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo.
  • Aboard the Expedition tourist train you travel for 1 hour 45 minutes to the town of Aguas Calientes. The train includes maximum comfort, music on board, attention on board and spectacular landscapes.
  • In Aguas Calientes an assistant will accompany you to the Consettur bus station. The trip lasts 30 minutes to the entrance gate of Machu Picchu.
  • The tourist will meet there with his guide to begin the 2 hour 30 minute tour of Machu Picchu. The chosen circuit is 2, which includes a visit to the main temples (Temple of the Sun, Main Temple, Temple of the Three Windows, Sacred Rock, Temple of the Condor and more). Of course it also includes the classic postcard photo.
  • At the end of the tour the visitor will return by tourist bus to the town of Aguas Calientes. There you will have free time to have lunch (not included in the tour) or make last-minute purchases.
  • The return trip is also by Expedition train and Bimodal bus to the city of Cusco. At the Wánchaq station the visitor will be transported to the door of their hotel.
  • The tour ends at 9 pm on average.

Day 5 (Tour to Maras and Moray)

  • The Maras – Moray tour begins with the pick-up of the visitor from the door of their hotel in Cusco at 7.30 am on average. Then, aboard a tourist transport, a 1 hour 45 minute trip takes place to the town of Maras.
  • In this historic town the visitor will discover its churches and colonial mansions. The guide will explain the importance of this place in colonial times.
  • Next, there is a short trip to the circular platforms of Moray, famous for their immense dimensions. There the Incas experimented with different agricultural products. The tourist, accompanied by his guide, will learn the history of it and will be able to obtain beautiful photographs.
  • Aboard the tourist minivan, the tourist will travel to the Maras Salt Mines where they will learn the production process of the famous Maras salt. This place was used by the Incas and even cultures before them. Of course you will also get beautiful photographs of this beautiful natural landscape.
  • The return trip to Cusco takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. The tour ends in the center of Cusco (or at the door of your hotel) at 2 pm on average.

Day 6 (End of tour)

  • The tourist may request the pick-up of a tourist transport from the door of their hotel for the final transfer to the Cusco airport.
  • At the Cusco airport the adventure in Cusco ends.
